Re: U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT)

Dear Senator, it has come to my attention that you will be overseeing the committee which has requested testimony on the state of current and near future Internet technologies. My source has noted that you have asked Bill Gates, Scott McNealy, and Jim Barksdale to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 3. As a professional Internet consultant and part of the Internet community at large I feel urged by a sense of fairness and completeness to point out that your omission of Apple Computer's Steven Jobs is an oversight you may still have time to rectify.

Mr. Jobs is one of the earliest visionaries of the personal computer and the graphical user interface which has helped push the Internet to the public forum that it is today. His insights and testimony before the Committee should rate high by any standards, particularly in light of the ISO's adoption of Apple's QuickTime multimedia standards.

I realize that time constraints and other issues have been considered, but as head of the world's third largest computer manufacturer, and in my humble opinion, the most user-friendly operating system bar none, it seems a shame that Mr. Jobs has been overlooked in your attention to details.
